If you’re referring to updating your BIOS via flashing it, then cutting power in the middle of the flash would brick your motherboard. Tried to flash it again by connecting a USB flash drive with every possible BIOS recovery nomenclature ( SUPPER.Removed the CMOS battery (CR2032) and power-cycled the PC (by trying to turn it on with the battery and charger unplugged).… Since BIOS updates don’t usually introduce new features or huge speed boosts, you probably won’t see a huge benefit anyway. Installing (or “flashing”) a new BIOS is more dangerous than updating a simple Windows program, and if something goes wrong during the process, you could end up bricking your computer. BIOS sizes are these days 16-32 MB and the write speeds are usually 100 KB/s+ so it should take about 10s per MB or less. I’d say if it takes more than 5 minutes I’d be worried but I wouldn’t mess with the computer until I go over the 10 minute mark. It should take around a minute, maybe 2 minutes.
